Acta Marine Christens New CSOV Acta Hercules

Acta Hercules is the second vessel delivered under Acta Marine’s four-vessel CSOV newbuild programme

Acta Marine has marked the latest milestone in its offshore wind fleet expansion with the official christening of Acta Hercules, its newest Construction Service Operation Vessel (CSOV), in IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

The vessel is already supporting Vestas under a long-term charter, strengthening Acta Marine’s growing fleet of specialised offshore wind support vessels and its capability to meet the evolving demands of the European offshore energy market.

The christening brought together stakeholders, clients, business partners and representatives from the organisations involved in the vessel’s development, construction and delivery, highlighting the collaboration behind the project.

As godmother of the vessel, Mrs. Marina van Oord performed the christening and wished the vessel, her crew and everyone working on board fair winds, following seas and safe operations throughout the years ahead. The ceremony honoured a longstanding maritime tradition that symbolises protection and prosperity for the vessel and those who sail aboard her.

“Today marks a proud milestone for everyone at Acta Marine,” said Rob Boer, CEO of Acta Marine. “Although Acta Hercules is already successfully supporting our client Vestas, this christening provides an opportunity to recognise the many people, partners and organisations who contributed to her development, construction and delivery. Acta Hercules strengthens our ability to support clients in the rapidly growing offshore wind market”.

Delivered earlier this year as the second vessel in Acta Marine’s four-vessel newbuild CSOV programme. The vessel has been designed to meet the evolving demands of the energy transition, combining operational performance, safety and crew comfort with technologies that support lower-emission operations. Equipped with methanol dual-fuel engines and an advanced battery energy storage system, Acta Hercules reflects Acta Marine’s ambition to continuously improve the sustainability and efficiency of its fleet.

The christening of Acta Hercules is another important step in Acta Marine’s long-term growth strategy. Following the deliveries of Acta Pegasus, Acta Hercules and most recently Acta Gemini, the company expects to take delivery of the fourth and final vessel in the series, Acta Aquarius, later this year.

Upon delivery of Acta Aquarius, Acta Marine’s fleet will comprise seven dedicated Walk-to-Work and Construction Service Operation Vessels, further strengthening the company’s position as a leading provider of offshore support solutions for the offshore wind industry. Together, these vessels form the foundation of a modern, scalable and increasingly sustainable fleet, enabling Acta Marine to support clients throughout the full lifecycle of offshore energy projects across Europe.
