Agalas, in collaboration with NSK Ship Design and Sefine Shipyard, has reached a significant milestone with the successful first steel cutting ceremony for their ground-breaking vessel. This unique vessel, set to be delivered in the first half of 2025, is the world’s first green fibre optic cable-lay vessel.

Designed by NSK Ship Design, the vessel will be built by Sefine Shipyard in Turkey. What sets this vessel apart is its innovative use of methanol dual fuel and battery propulsion, resulting in a remarkable 70% reduction in emissions.
