HS60 Patrol Boat Río Odiel follows sister vessel Río Antas as AISTER continues deliveries under the Guardia Civil contract
Spanish aluminium shipbuilder AISTER is preparing to deliver the Río Odiel, the seventh HS60-series high-speed interceptor patrol boat built for the Servicio Maritimo De La Gaurdia Civil (SEMAR), as the company continues to strengthen its reputation in the specialist patrol craft sector.
Purpose-built for high-speed maritime interdiction missions, the Río Odiel will support the Guardia Civil’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, organised crime and other illegal activity in Spanish waters. The vessel forms part of a multi-boat programme that has seen AISTER establish itself as a key supplier of advanced aluminium patrol craft for Spain’s maritime law enforcement agencies.
The Río Odiel follows the successful handover of sister vessel Río Antas in December 2025. Since entering service, the sixth HS60 interceptor has been deployed on maritime surveillance, coastal security and anti-smuggling operations, contributing to the Guardia Civil’s expanding fleet of modern fast patrol boats.
Like the rest of the HS60 class, Río Odiel has been purpose-built for demanding maritime missions, combining high speed, manoeuvrability and crew protection in a lightweight aluminium platform.
Powered by twin MAN inboard engines of 1800 hp each, powering two HamiltonJet waterjets, the patrol craft is capable of speeds exceeding 60 knots, providing the rapid response needed for pursuit and interception operations.
The vessel’s advanced hull design delivers exceptional handling, enabling tight, high-speed manoeuvres while maintaining stability during complex interception and evasive operations in challenging sea conditions.
