Svitzer announces duo of new appointments to global leadership team

Leading towage operator Svitzer has made two new appointments to its Global Leadership Team based in Copenhagen, Denmark, the company has announced today.

Svitzer Europe’s Head of Communications Pernille Brandis Rosengaard becomes Global Head of Group Branding & Communications. Meanwhile, from 21 February, Emilie Bruun joins from Danish multinational medical company Coloplast to become Svitzer’s new Chief People Officer.

For Emilie, the appointment marks a return to the Maersk family, having spent the first six years of her career as Global HR Business Partner and then Head of Strategic HR at Maersk Tankers. Emilie holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from University of Copenhagen and joins Svitzer having gained extensive experience across several industries within both traditional and transformational HR – with a particular focus on organisational development, leadership and cultural transformation. Now, Emilie will be leading the work around bringing Svitzer’s purpose and growth agenda to life through Svitzer’s most important assets – its people across sea and shore.

Meanwhile, Pernille’s new role sees her promoted from managing Svitzer’s European communications strategy to become responsible for Global brand and communications efforts. Pernille has a Master’s degree in Public Relations and has worked with Svitzer for nearly five years, during which time she has built and executed strategies that not only unite sea and shore employees but that also resonate in a market dominated by fierce competition.

Both new appointees will report directly to Svitzer’s CEO Kasper Nilaus and will become part of Svitzer’s Global Leadership Team.

Commenting on the announcement, Kasper Nilaus, Chief Executive Officer, Svitzer, said: “I am pleased to welcome Emilie and Pernille to Svitzer’s Global Leadership Team. Their capabilities within their fields are unparalleled, and it is clear they share a deep drive to help us collectively execute Svitzer’s ambitious strategy for the coming years.

“These appointments come at an important time for Svitzer, as we aim to partner up even more closely with our customers and spearhead our innovation and growth agenda. Achieving these goals requires us to continually shape our culture and evolve in our leadership. I am looking forward to working with Emilie and Pernille to bring Svitzer’s deep purpose to life within our organisation and then clearly communicate our efforts and passion to the market.”
