‘Audaz VIII’ joins the AEAT fleet following completion of Rodman’s eight-boat high-speed patrol boat contract
Rodman Polyships, part of the Rodman Group and specialising in the construction of GRP boats and vessels, has completed delivery of the eighth and final Rodman 55 high-speed patrol boat built for Spain’s Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria (AEAT). Named ‘Audaz VIII’, the vessel was handed over to the AEAT in Huelva, where it will be based for patrol, interception and surveillance operations.
The delivery marks the completion of one of Rodman’s most demanding recent contracts, with all eight vessels in the Audaz Series designed, built and delivered individually by the Spanish shipyard.
Developed specifically for high-speed enforcement operations, the Rodman 55 patrol boats are designed to operate at planning speeds during interception and pursuit missions while maintaining crew safety and comfort.
The vessels are equipped with twin marine diesel engines driving waterjets, delivering a combination of high speed, manoeuvrability, reliability and seakeeping performance. Rodman says the boats have exceeded the technical and operational performance requirements established by the AEAT.
Each vessel is configured for a crew of six and will support the enforcement of national and international regulations through maritime patrol and surveillance duties.
Rodman 55 technical specifications:
- Overall length: 17.33 m
- Beam: 3.98 m
- Depth to main deck: 2.10 m
- Waterjets: 2 x Hamilton Jet HTX42
- Main engines: 2 x MAN D2862 LE 436
- Fuel capacity: 3,300 litres
- Fresh water capacity: 110 litres
- Crew: 6
The Rodman 55 has been developed around the AEAT’s operational requirements, with particular attention to high-speed performance, safety and onboard comfort.
Completion of the eight-vessel Audaz Series reinforces Rodman’s position in the professional GRP patrol boat market, with its vessels serving demanding commercial, government and professional operators internationally.
