Cemre Shipyard, one of Türkiye’s leading shipbuilders, proudly delivers NB1094 ESVAGT—the world’s first Service Operation Vessel (SOV) powered by e-methanol. Now en route to her home port, the vessel represents a significant leap forward for both maritime innovation and offshore wind operations.
NB1094 represents a breakthrough in sustainable vessel design and construction. Built through the successful resolution of numerous technical and engineering challenges, the project stands as a testament to Cemre Shipyard’s innovation, expertise, and dedication. Distinguished by Esvagt’s iconic red hull and advanced technical specifications, the 93-meter vessel is designed to accommodate 124 personnel, complies with DNV classification rules, sails under the Danish flag, and will support operations at Hornsea 2—the world’s largest offshore wind farm—located 55 miles off the east coast of England, in the North Sea.
Designed by Hav Design, NB1094 SOV features an environmentally advanced propulsion system powered by e-methanol and batteries, enabling a reduction of approximately 45,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. The vessel delivers enhanced crew comfort, high-level safety through state-of-the-art systems, and optimised logistics engineered for efficient offshore wind turbine service operations.
Cemre Shipyard is honoured to deliver this landmark vessel to ESVAGT A/S and the vessel will become an integral part of Ørsted’s UK East Coast Hub.
With NB1094 now en route, this vessel is set to play a defining role in the future of green offshore wind services. Cemre Shipyard is proud to contribute to this significant step toward a more sustainable maritime industry.
