Centa is back at Seawork

Centa will be back to demonstrate why it’s one of the world leaders in the field of power transmission supply and servicing at this year’s Seawork exhibition.

“Seawork is a great opportunity for us to meet existing customers and new ones too,” said Darren Hudson, UK Sales Manager at Centa Nederland “We design, manufacture and service highly engineered mechanical components worldwide. Our customers’ reliability requirements and the cost of downtime are extremely important in our product selection. We keep industry moving with products and services that enhance the reliability of equipment supporting key industries.”

Global leader

As a global leader in premium couplings, drive lines and power transmissions, Centa Nederland continues to provide the same high quality customer solutions and service its customers have come to expect over the last 50 years. It provides couplings for the drive of ships, vehicles, (land) machines, but also applications in the wind industry, in generator construction and rail vehicles. Offering solutions for both new build applications and MRO maintenance, repair and overhaul for service and spares worldwide.

The growth the company has achieved in market share over the years lead to investment in a large CNC machine shop that enables the most complex machining operations, plus an expanded team on hand with advanced technical know-how.

In addition to application advice and installation drawings, Centa can also carry out torsional vibration calculations. The Centa Nederland warehouses in Stellendam can deliver most couplings from stock within a short turnaround time world-wide and these can also be installed if required. Stock includes all common rubber parts, fixings, bearings and aluminium parts, which are all kept in ready supply.

In addition to supply and spares, Centa also provides a repair service for the replacement and repair of flexible couplings and training on maintenance, analysis, inspection and control of existing installations.

Partnering with Phoenix Vibration Controls BV, who supply standard and custom design anti-vibration mounts, Centa Nederlands can offer a complete vibration solution onboard all vessels.

Build projects

Centa has recently been working with Wight Shipyard Co on its latest build for Uber Boat by Thames Clipper – Earth Clipper.

The service and product Centa supplied is a full Tortional Vibration Calculation (TVC) service which resulted in the supply of two couplings solutions. The boat is powered by an innovative hybrid engine supplied by PME Power Systems Group Ltd that blends both traditional fuel and electric power, making it incredibly eco-friendly.

This hybrid design allows Earth Clipper to operate solely on battery power while transporting commuters and sightseers through central London and recharge while using biofueled power outside of the city.
