CoCo Yachts Celebrates Launch of Hai You Shipping’s Fast Ferry

CoCo Yachts, a designer of fast ferries, is pleased to announce that Hai You Shipping Co., Ltd of Taiwan has commenced operations with its first CoCo Yachts designed vessel. The fast ferry, named “Tai Ji Jhih Sing no. 3”, was constructed by Glow Marine of Singapore.

The Coastal Cruiser 400, custom-designed for Hai You Shipping, boasts a unique reversed bow and impressive dimensions, with a length over all of 42.80m and a beam of 10.3m. The hull is specifically engineered to withstand high-speed sailing in adverse weather conditions, without compromising comfort and efficiency.

The vessel features four MTU 12V2000M86 engines, each powering a Hamilton HTX-52 waterjet through a ZF 3050 gearbox. Additionally, two Kohler 99 ekW generator sets provide auxiliary power. The construction is built to navigate waves up to 4.0 m, complying with ROC and CR regulations for high-speed passenger ships in Taiwan’s coastal waters.

With a service speed of 38 knots and a maximum speed of 43 knots, the Coastal Cruiser 400 operates on the route between Budai on Taiwan’s west coast and Magong in the Penghu islands. This high-performance vessel ensures swift and efficient transportation for passengers in the area.
