DLRG | Ortsgruppe Drochtersen e.V., a German lifeboat institution, has recently announced its collaboration with Habbeké Shipyard for the construction and delivery of a new Fast Rescue Craft (FRC) called the FRC © 903 OB. The contract was signed in Hoorn between board members of DLRG | Ortsgruppe Drochtersen e.V. and Habbeké Shipyard CEO, Orm de Waart.
The FRC © 903 OB is an enhanced version of the FRC © 903 currently utilized by the KNRM (Nikolaas Class Lifeboat). The FRC is designed by Pieter Meuzelaar of Habbeké Shipyard, boasts an overall length of 9.20 meters, a maximum beam of 3.20 meters, and a draft of 0.90 meters. Made of seawater-resistant aluminium, the FRC weighs 3.50 tons and has a fuel capacity of 400 liters. With its remarkable performance capabilities and a range of 3 hours at full power, the FRC can accommodate a crew of four and has a rescue capacity of 20 individuals.
