Newbuild vessel to support Siemens Gamesa under 15-year charter on Taiwan’s Hai Long offshore wind project
Cyan Renewables has christened its newest offshore wind service operation vessel, Cyan Wind Seeker, marking another step forward in the company’s fleet expansion and its role supporting the global energy transition.
The offshore wind service operation vessel was delivered ahead of schedule and will enter service immediately under a 15-year charter. Cyan Wind Seeker has been contracted to support Siemens Gamesa’s offshore wind operations at the Hai Long offshore wind project, located off the coast of Taiwan.
Designed to meet the demanding requirements of offshore wind operations, Cyan Wind Seeker is an advanced, environmentally friendly support vessel optimised for seakeeping, station keeping, fuel efficiency, safety and crew welfare.
The vessel is equipped with a Walk-to-Work (W2W) motion-compensated gangway with elevator access to transition pieces, a stern boat landing system for safe personnel and equipment transfer, and Dynamic Positioning (DP) capability to ensure safe and precise offshore operations.
In line with Cyan’s sustainability focus, Cyan Wind Seeker is fitted with fuel-efficient propulsion technology, including Siemens BlueDrive and hybrid battery systems, enabling lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions and quieter operations — delivering both environmental and cost efficiencies for clients.
The vessel also features Comfort Class cabins, providing enhanced living conditions through reduced noise and improved stability, supporting crew wellbeing and operational performance offshore.
Commenting on the christening, Lee Keng Lin, Group Chief Executive Officer of Cyan, said: “The christening of Cyan Wind Seeker marks an important milestone for Cyan and a proud moment for our team and partners. Delivered ahead of schedule, she will commence a 15-year charter immediately with a leading international offshore wind Grade 1 client — reinforcing both market demand and the strength of our long-term partnerships.
Cyan Wind Seeker is designed with efficiency and performance at its core. Equipped with Siemens BlueDrive and hybrid battery systems, she delivers lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions and more stable operations — enhancing both cost efficiency and environmental performance.
This vessel reflects Cyan’s disciplined focus on long-duration contracts, high-quality assets and the offshore wind sector. We remain confident in the sector’s growth and committed to delivering reliable, sustainable solutions while supporting the global energy transition.”
The christening ceremony, held on Tuesday 21 April 2026 at VARD, Vũng Tàu, Vietnam, brought together Cyan’s key clients, partners and industry stakeholders to celebrate this milestone and the collaborative effort behind the vessel’s delivery. The event forms part of a two-day programme including client engagements and vessel tours.
