Evotec Delivers Additional LARS Systems for ROV

Rem Offshore AS’s new Energy Subsea Construction Vessel (ESCV) has signed a contract for two LARS systems.

Evotec has signed contracts for six new LARS units for delivery in 2024-2025 and is working on several new projects in the same segment.

Sales manager Offshore & Wind of Evotec, Geir Henning Kalvatn, said, “We have worked hard to be chosen as the supplier for this project and have had a close and good collaboration with Skipsteknisk, REM Offshore, and Myklebust Verft. This is a great example of our ability to develop and improve future-oriented systems together with our customers.”

Skipsteknisk in Ålesund has designed the modern vessel, which is being built at Myklebust shipyard with an expected delivery during 2026. The vessel is equipped with a 250-ton crane and a large hangar where Evotec will deliver a complete topside LARS and a moonpool LARS system.

The delivery also includes Evotec’s control system with active heave compensation, side doors, moonpool hatch, and sheave arrangement. This ensures that the systems are well integrated as part of a total package. This integration is essential for Evotec’s handling systems, where one can control the entire operation with full focus on safety – either from onboard stations or from remote radio systems.

“We have established ourselves well in the offshore market, and we are confident that we will secure more contracts going forward. We have a promise to make the seven seas our customers’ playground. And with a strong focus on sustainable technology, efficiency, and unique handling solutions for the offshore market,we see that this is generating positive feedback and results,” concludes Jogeir Romestrand, CEO of Evotec.
