Four hybrid CTV’s ordered from Blount Boats By New US Offshore Wind Operator

Northern Offshore Services and SEA O.G. Offshore starts new business in the U.S. – American Offshore Services

In 2020 Northern Offshore Services (N-O-S) and SEA O.G Offshore signed a joint venture with the ambition to explore the opportunities in the expanding American offshore wind industry. During the past year the companies have worked together culminating in the new company American Offshore Services (A-O-S). With its own fleet A-O-S will serve the American offshore wind industry with Crew Transfer Vessels and additional services.

Four hybrid ready CTV’s ordered from Blount Boats

American Offshore Services (A-O-S) has placed an order at Blount Boats in Rhode Island for four (4) Jones Act compliant Hybrid Ready Crew Transfer Vessels. The vessels are part of N-O-S’s new “G-Class” series which is a new generation of N-O-S CTVs. The G-class is based on the well-proven N-O-S designs, known to offer industry leading safety and operability. The design will be the first hybrid ready CTVs in the US Market, with vessels being delivered throughout 2023/2024. All four vessels will be immediately put to work servicing the Nations upcoming utility scale offshore wind projects.

The N-O-S G-Class is a future generation Crew Transfer Vessel ready to take on even tougher challenges than before. The revolutionizing diamond shaped hull together with the new Volvo Penta IPS system will make crew transfers more comfortable than ever and at the same time will minimize emissions and the effect on the environment. With significantly increased performance this vessel will operate more safely and more effectively during harsh weather conditions.

First signed contracts

A-O-S has also signed the first contracts with clients in the U.S. Starting in Q2 2023, A-O-S will provide Crew Transfer Vessels to transfer personnel and equipment to four different wind farms on the U.S. East Coast during the construction phase.

“We believe in globalization and we are happy to have found a partner in Sea O.G. in the United States that shares our vision and values. American Offshore Services is the next step in our company’s journey”, says David Kristensson, owner Northern Offshore Services.
