MED GEMLIK and MED ALIAGA bring the number of RAstar 3200-W sister tugs in the YAKAMOZ fleet to four
MED MARINE has continued the expansion of the YAKAMOZ tug fleet with the delivery of sister vessels MED GEMLIK and MED ALIAGA from its EREGLI SHIPYARD in Türkiye.
Both tugs are based on the Robert Allan RAstar 3200-W design, were delivered in mid-September and have now entered service with YAKAMOZ, following the recent delivery of sister vessels MED CEYHAN and MED ISKENDERUN.
The latest deliveries follow the recent addition of MED CEYHAN and MED ISKENDERUN, which were also constructed at MED MARINE’s EREGLI SHIPYARD. With the arrival of MED GEMLIK and MED ALIAGA, YAKAMOZ now has four RAstar 3200-W sister tugs operating within its fleet.
Designed for demanding harbour and towing operations, MED GEMLIK and MED ALIAGA combine high towing capability with precise manoeuvrability. The vessels deliver 80 tonnes of bollard pull and provide accommodation for a crew of eight.
The tugs are also equipped to meet Class FiFi requirements, providing dedicated firefighting capability alongside their primary towing and harbour duties. This additional capability enables the vessels to support emergency response and rescue operations when required.

With MED GEMLIK and MED ALIAGA entering service following MED CEYHAN and MED ISKENDERUN, YAKAMOZ continues to steadily expand its fleet in line with common design principles and operational standards. The four sister tugs of the RAstar 3200-W series will form an important part of YAKAMOZ’s journey towards building a strong, modern and reliable tug fleet. MED MARINE, meanwhile, continues to contribute to the development of the YAKAMOZ fleet through the high-standard shipbuilding capabilities of its EREGLI SHIPYARD and its long-standing experience in tug operations.
