MED MARINE New Tugs for YAKAMOZ Joint Venture

MED İskenderun and MED Ceyhan strengthen YAKAMOZ fleet with additional towing and ship-handling capacity

MED MARINE has completed the construction and delivery of two RAmparts 2500-W harbour tugs, MED İskenderun and MED Ceyhan, as part of its ongoing fleet investment programme. Built at EREGLI SHIPYARD, the sister vessels have joined the YAKAMOZ fleet, established through the partnership between MED MARINE and MARIN TUG, and have now entered operational service.

MED İskenderun has been assigned to the İskenderun Gulf operational area, while MED Ceyhan has joined the Aliağa-2 operational area. With their entry into service, the two tugs move from the shipyard into active operations, bringing new capacity and capability to the areas in which they will serve.

Designed as versatile harbour tugs, the RAmparts 2500-W vessels measure 25.40 metres in length and deliver a minimum bollard pull of 80 tonnes. With a top speed of 12 knots, they combine strong towing performance with the manoeuvrability required across a wide range of harbour operations. Their capabilities include towing, pushing, ship handling, and mooring, supported by robust structures and carefully engineered systems.

The tugs are also equipped to meet Class FiFi requirements, providing firefighting capability alongside their core towage functions. Their propulsion arrangement has been developed to translate engine power into reliable bollard pull while maintaining the agility required for precise manoeuvring in demanding marine environments.

For MED MARINE, the completion of MED İskenderun and MED Ceyhan brings together shipbuilding expertise and operational experience in a single story. Built at EREGLI SHIPYARD and subsequently brought into service through the Yakamoz Joint Venture, the two vessels now carry the work of their builders into the operational environment, where performance and reliability become part of everyday practice.

From their first stages of construction at EREGLI SHIPYARD to their entry into service, MED İskenderun and MED Ceyhan mark the completion of one chapter and the beginning of another. Their journey now continues within the YAKAMOZ fleet, where two newly built tugs are ready to take on the work ahead.
