Rodman Boats, part of the Rodman Group and a specialist in the construction of Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) vessels, has delivered a new Rodman 33 patrol boat to the State Tax Administration Agency for use in coastal surveillance and anti-smuggling operations.
Named “Gavilán I”, the new patrol craft will be based in Muros Bay, in the province of A Coruña, and will play a key role in the agency’s maritime operations along Spain’s northwest coast.
The Rodman 33 is a coastal patrol boat designed for operations in bays, estuaries, and other nearshore environments. Built from GRP and composite materials, the vessel combines strength, speed, and durability with excellent comfort and safety for its four-person crew. It can also be used to transport personnel between nearby coastal areas.
Powered by two Mercury F350 V10 XL-CXL AMS four-stroke outboard engines, each producing 350 HP, the Rodman 33 reaches speeds of over 40 knots and offers a range of more than 150 nautical miles. With an overall length of 11.4 metres and a beam of 3.4 metres, the vessel provides an optimal balance between performance, stability, and operational versatility.
Compact and functional, the Rodman 33 will strengthen the agency’s existing fleet and enhance its effectiveness in combating illegal maritime trafficking.
This delivery reinforces Rodman Polyships’ position as a global leader in the design and construction of Glass Reinforced Polyester patrol and surveillance vessels, trusted by government agencies and maritime authorities around the world.
