Purse Seiner Trawler NB64 Libas is Delivered

Developed by the Norwegian Salt Ship Design, Libas is the first of her kind on an environment-friendly scale. She is the World’s first hybrid Purse Seiner Trawler driven by LNG&Batteries. DNV-GL classed Libas carries the Norwegian Flag.

86,5 m long vessel has a  350 cum MAN Cyro LNG tank, 2.830 cum RSW tank capacity, and 500 kWh battery power. The battery system is to be used specifically during peak shaving operations. Her main engine is  6.000 kW at 514 rpm MAN Machinery.  Libas is equipped as a purse seiner and for both double and single trawling.

A trendsetter in her field, Libas is considered environmentally-friendly, safe, efficient, and comfortable, and thanks to her innovative design she won the 2018 NorFishing Innovation Award.

Many people have shown splendid effort during her building process. As Cemre Shipyard, we are thankful for all contributors believing in us and themselves.
