Rodman Secures Spanish Navy Patrol Boat Deal

Three Rodman 66 patrol boats will support Spanish Navy coastal surveillance and patrol operations

Spanish shipbuilder Rodman Polyships has secured a €10.4 million contract to build three Rodman 66 patrol boats for the Spanish Navy.

The new vessels have been specifically developed for coastal surveillance and patrol operations along the Spanish coastline, adding to the Navy’s growing fleet of Rodman-built professional craft.

The shipyard previously delivered three Rodman 66 vessels to the Spanish Navy between 2023 and 2024. While those vessels were assigned to different operational roles, their successful delivery and performance have reinforced the Navy’s confidence in the Rodman 66 platform and the shipyard’s ability to deliver specialised patrol vessels.

The new Rodman 66 patrol boats have been designed around the operational and technical requirements specified by the Spanish Navy, with the configuration tailored to their intended deployment locations and missions.

Construction is already underway at the Rodman Polyships shipyard. The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in December 2026, while work on the second unit has already commenced.

The vessels are being designed and constructed in accordance with the procedures and quality standards established under PECAL/AQAP 2110, which sets out NATO quality assurance requirements for defence-related contracts.

The 20.5-metre Rodman 66 is designed to combine high-speed performance with the endurance required for extended coastal patrol missions.
