The new multi-purpose workboat series will support Royal IHC’s Beaver® cutter suction dredgers, with capabilities including towing, anchor handling and personnel transport
Royal IHC and Nauplius Workboats have signed a contract to jointly develop a new portfolio of heavy-duty workboats designed to support dredging operations using Royal IHC’s Beaver® cutter suction dredgers.
The agreement extends the companies’ strategic partnership, combining Royal IHC’s dredging expertise with Nauplius Workboats’ experience in the design and construction of workboats for the maritime industry.
The new portfolio will comprise versatile, purpose-built workboats designed for shallow inland waters, supporting a range of dredging operations. Capabilities will include pushing and towing, buoy and anchor handling, and the transportation of fuel, goods and personnel, providing vessel owners and operators with flexible support solutions for inland dredging projects.
The agreement marks a further step in the strategic partnership between Royal IHC and Nauplius Workboats, bringing together their complementary expertise to develop a dedicated range of heavy-duty vessels for the dredging sector.
“We are pleased to be working with Royal IHC to develop a new series of workboats, offering a range of support vessels designed with the highest quality standards,” says Gerrit Knol, Technical Director at Nauplius Workboats.
Peter Bronsveld, Director Standard Modular Vessels at IHC Dredging, adds: “By extending our partnership with Nauplius Workboats, we can better meet our customers’ needs with multi-purpose workboats that help optimise dredging operations worldwide.”
