Save the date for Ocean Business 2023

The global ocean technology community will reunite in Southampton in April as Ocean Business, one of the leading shows for marine industries, launches its 2023 edition.

With four months to go, all of the exhibition space has already been sold for what promises to be the biggest event yet, bringing together record crowds from around the world.

Registration opens in January for the three-day show, to be held at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, and featuring an international roll-call of ocean people, from technology pioneers, to game-changing manufacturers and innovative service providers.

Visitors will be able to see the newest equipment in action and test drive products to keep them ahead of the competition, with familiar big-name suppliers exhibiting alongside newer entrants to the sector.

Returning to its spring slot post-Covid, Ocean Business – last staged in autumn 2021 – runs from April 18-20, and will build on the success of the tried and tested formula of previous years.

The Training and Demonstration Programme, full details of which will be released in January, marks a year of exciting progress in autonomous vehicles, with brand new technologies demonstrated in the dockside waters, onboard vessels and in the classroom.

And the Ocean Careers programme is back, offering students an opportunity to connect with potential employers and gain valuable insights from industry professionals.

Ocean Business 2023 will also host a one-day, free-to-attend conference – on top of a series of associated, on-site meetings – with a line-up of sector experts addressing the key issues of the day.

And, for the first time, the world’s only conference dedicated to marine electromagnetics – MARELEC – will run alongside Ocean Business. Delegates will hear from eminent scientists, engineers and academics of the advances made in the past four years in the fields of geophysics, geotechnical engineering, oceanography and naval warfare.

Both inside and outside the expansive exhibition halls, a variety of social events – including the popular Wine Trail, on Wednesday, April 19 – will ensure exhibitors and visitors can network around the clock.

Ocean Business regulars have described the biennial event as ‘pivotal’ in the ocean industry calendar and ‘more than just a 9 to 5 exhibition’.

Cheri Arvonio, Event Director at show organiser Diversified Communications, said Ocean Business offered an unbeatable backdrop for doing business, networking and hearing industry updates.

‘We are delighted to welcome back the international ocean business community to Southampton in April. We’ve been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm in the industry as this dynamic show returns to its traditional spring dates.

‘Ocean Business provides a platform to forge relationships and grow your business network and we are confident that this year’s event will mirror the vision and cutting-edge creativity of the sector. Now the countdown has begun, expectations are high for a memorable three days.’
