Second Doolin Ferry Vessel Hits the Water

Nova Shipyard launches its second passenger vessel for Doolin Ferry Co., strengthening the partnership between the shipyard and Irish ferry operator

Nova Shipyard has successfully launched Inis Oirr Express, the second passenger vessel built by the shipyard for Irish ferry operator Doolin Ferry Co.

The launch represents a further milestone in the partnership between the two companies, following the successful delivery of the vessel’s sister ship, ‘Cliffs of Moher Express’. The latest project has further strengthened the relationship between Nova Shipyard and Doolin Ferry, supporting their continued collaboration in passenger vessel construction.

Built in aluminium, Inis Oirr Express has been designed by MER ET DESIGN to meet the demanding requirements of European passenger vessel regulations. The vessel reflects Nova Shipyard’s focus on engineering, quality and innovation in the construction of passenger vessels.

Nova Shipyard acknowledged the continued support and confidence of Liam O’Brien and the wider Doolin Ferry team throughout the project. The shipyard also recognised the contribution of its workforce, whose dedication and hard work helped bring the vessel to this important stage.

Following the successful launch, Inis Oirr Express will undergo sea trials before final preparations for delivery to Doolin Ferry Co.
