Trident Aqua Services, a global leader in aquaculture maritime services, has further solidified its commitment to sustainability by contracting a new battery-hybrid live fish carrier and a premium hybrid service vessel. These investments, part of the company’s broader strategy to reduce emissions while enhancing operational efficiency, bring Trident’s total number of vessels under construction to seven, expanding its fleet to 69 ships globally
The new vessels combine advanced technology with innovative design, meeting the highest requirements for environment, biosecurity, and fish welfare in the aquaculture industry. The investment in battery-hybrid vessels delivers significant emission reductions, while ensuring operational reliability and efficiency.
The new live fish carrier, developed by Salt Ship Design, will be built at the Zamakona shipyard in Bilbao, and marks the fourth vessel that Trident has contracted there. With a capacity of 4,000 m³, the vessel will be equipped with a state-of-the-art fish-handling system from MMC First Process, a powerful reverse osmosis plant,and hybrid propulsion. The contract process was supported by MIL Shipping.

The vessel will feature a highly flexible platform adaptable to diverse customer needs, while also reinforcing Trident’s strong position in freshwater-based treatments against sea lice and AGD (amoebic gill disease).

At the same time, Trident Aqua Services is also contracting a new 27-meter premium hybrid service vessel to be built at Sletta Ship Yard. The vessel is designed by Solstrand Trading, and is the 17th vessel built by Sletta for Trident.

The vessel is built for complex service operations in the aquaculture industry, equipped with a 1,570 kWh battery pack. Combined with powerful deck equipment and an ROV-system capable of bolt drilling down to 300 meters, the vessel is exceptionally well equipped for safe and efficient operations.

Trident has recently received Multi Frontier, also built as Sletta, and has two additional vessels under construction at the shipyard: Multi Installer (27 m) and MultiMaster (20 m).
