Windward Munich becomes the third hybrid CSOV delivered by VARD to Windward Offshore for offshore wind commissioning operations
VARD has delivered the hybrid commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) Windward Munich to Windward Offshore GmbH & Co., marking the third of four advanced offshore wind support vessels being built for the German operator.
Constructed at VARD’s shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam, Windward Munich was handed over ahead of the contractual delivery date and is set to begin its first charter assignment in the near future.
Designed to support offshore wind commissioning and maintenance campaigns, the hybrid CSOV combines high levels of onboard comfort with energy-efficient technology. The vessel features electrically driven propulsion systems, an integrated motion-compensated gangway and offshore crane, a helideck, and accommodation for up to 120 personnel.
The early delivery continues VARD’s track record of completing complex offshore vessels on schedule while supporting the growing demand for advanced service vessels in the offshore wind sector.
VARD said the successful handover reflects the dedication, technical expertise and close collaboration across its integrated value chain, enabling another sophisticated vessel to be delivered ahead of schedule while maintaining high quality standards.
