AERON signs contract to design and deliver complete HVAC system to Nexans new DP3 cable laying vessel

Aeron has signed a contract with Ulstein Verft to design and deliver the complete HVAC-R system for Nexans new DP3 cable laying vessel. The vessel is a ST-297 CLV designed by Skipsteknisk AS and an updated version of the Nexans Aurora, delivered in 2021.

“In 2019, we were selected as the HVAC supplier for Ulsteins NB 314, Nexans Aurora. To be selected again for the new updated DP3 cable laying vessel is a great honor,” says Jan Kåre Hansen, Director Marine at Aeron AS.

The new cable laying vessel is a state-of-the-art cable laying vessel that is designed to meet the demanding requirements of the offshore energy industry. The vessel will be equipped with a range of advanced features, including a split turntable on deck capable of holding up to 10,000t of cable, an under-deck turntable with a 3,500t cable capacity, and a fiber optic basket holding 450t. The vessel will be able to operate in challenging weather conditions and will be capable of laying up to four cables simultaneously.

The vessel will be delivered from Ulstein in 2026.
