Baltic Workboats, an Estonian designer, builder, and supplier of steel and aluminium workboats, announce the departure of two additional vessels from its shipyard to Flotte Hamburg GmbH & Co. KG, marking the fourth and fifth vessels delivered to the Port of Hamburg operator within the past 12 months.
The new vessels began their delivery journey at the end of last week and are scheduled for final arrival and handover in mid-December. These latest deliveries underscore Baltic Workboats’ commitment to providing high-quality, reliable vessels tailored to the operational needs of modern port operators.
The two vessels — Pilot 17 WP and Patrol 29 WP Hybrid — further modernise the Port of Hamburg’s municipal fleet with advanced engineering, reduced emissions, and versatile operating capabilities.
- The Pilot 17 WP, a 17-meter pilot vessel, is built on Baltic Workboats’ wave-piercing platform and adapted for inland navigation. It is powered by Stage V emission-compliant engines and equipped with a dedicated navigation configuration suitable for confined waterways.
- The Patrol 29 WP Hybrid is a 29-meter patrol vessel featuring a hybrid propulsion system designed to maintain optimal efficiency across the full operational speed range from zero to 25 knots. The vessel also incorporates a 440 kWh energy storage system, enabling low-emission and silent operations when required.
“These were among the most technically advanced vessels ever developed and built at Baltic Workboats,” project manager Aleks Notton explained. “The customer contributed actively throughout the design phase, ensuring that every component met the highest engineering expectations. Their detailed involvement, coupled with the extensive equipment required for vessels of this scale, made the project an exceptionally rewarding engineering achievement.”
