BOA Successfully Launches Two 82m Floating Dock Sections

Two 82 x 47-metre floating dock sections launched at Wulkan Shipyard using BOA’s semi-submersible barge Boabarge 36

Norwegian marine services company BOA has completed the launch of two floating dock sections at Wulkan Shipyard in Szczecin, Poland, for charterer Trend Projekt, marking a significant milestone in the construction of what will become one of the Baltic Sea’s largest floating docks.

Each section measures 82 by 47 meters and was launched using BOA’s semi-submersible barge, Boabarge 36, which offers 3,600 square meters of deck space and submerging capacities of 8 meters forward and 12 meters aft above deck, enabling safe and controlled loadout operations.

BOA will launch the 3rd and final section of the floating dock in August 2026.Once completed, the floating dock will be one of the largest in the Baltic Sea, strengthening the shipbuilding potential of Western Pomerania.

Beyond providing the semi-submersible barge, BOA delivered Engineering and operational management of the barge of the barge, ensuring safe and efficient executions.

The company also acknowledged the cooperation involved in delivering the project successfully. “We would like to thank Trend Projekt, as well as BOA employees and all stakeholders, for the excellent collaboration and contribution to this successful operation,” the company said.
