Caudwell Marine Opens Dubai Base to Accelerate AX300 Development

New facility enables extended real-world validation of the AX300 Diesel in extreme heat and demanding conditions.

Caudwell Marine, the UK marine engineering company developing a new generation of the AX300 diesel outboard propulsion systems, has opened a dedicated Test and Development Centre at Port Rashid in Dubai, UAE.

The new facility expands Caudwell Marine’s international testing capability, operating in parallel with its UK-based Test and Development centre and complementing a growing global partner testing programme. The Dubai location enables extended real-world testing of the AX300 Diesel in extreme heat and demanding operational environments.

Testing in the UAE provides access to sustained high temperatures, salinity and operational profiles that are difficult to replicate elsewhere, supporting Caudwell Marine’s focus on engineering propulsion systems for the world’s most demanding commercial and professional marine applications.

The Dubai centre employs six full-time team members with extensive commercial marine experience. This includes five highly experienced skippers and boat captains with deep operational knowledge across a range of professional vessel types, alongside an Operations Manager with a strong background in marine transportation, electrical systems, navigation and on-water operations. Together, the team brings a practical, systems-level understanding of how professional vessels are operated, maintained and supported in the real world.

As Caudwell Marine prepares for market introduction, the Dubai centre plays a dual role within the company’s phased 2026 global roll-out strategy. In addition to supporting endurance testing and on-water validation, the team will work closely with local operators, vessel builders and commercial partners, enabling customer discovery days, technical demonstrations and early trials. This permanent on-water presence ensures Caudwell Marine remains close to customers throughout the introduction phase, partnering with them every step of the way as the AX300 Diesel Outboard enters service in the region.
