Cetasol and Aesen Take Major Step Toward Greener Maritime Operations

Long-term framework agreement enables deployment of Cetasol’s iHelm across Aesen’s 120-vessel fleet

Cetasol, a provider of intelligent maritime solutions, has signed a long-term framework agreement with Aesen, a leading provider of integrated marine, crew mobility, and offshore support services for the oil & gas and renewable energy sectors. Under the agreement, Cetasol’s iHelm solution will be deployed across Aesen’s entire fleet of 120 vessels. The partnership marks a significant milestone for maritime sustainability, reflecting both companies’ shared commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

The collaboration, which began in 2024, has evolved into a strategic alliance. Under the new non-binding agreement, the first phase of the roll-out will commence in 2026, with the remainder of the fleet following in the coming years.

“For us, the value lies in how iHelm integrates with our vessels and existing onboard systems. By combining operational data with inputs from MRU sensors and onboard cameras, we gain deeper insight into vessel motion, performance, and fuel use in real operating conditions. This level of integration strengthens decision-making on board and ashore, and supports safer, more efficient operations across a diverse and demanding fleet. Partnering with iHelm reflects our unwavering commitment to enabling the global energy transition and steering toward a greener blue.” — Mr. Tan Wee How, Chief Operations Officer, Aesen

iHelm leverages advanced AI to provide real-time onboard recommendations for captains, paired with deep historical data and trend insights via its cloud platform. This dual approach provides Aesen with a powerful fleet monitoring tool to maintain a comprehensive overview of performance and energy consumption across its diverse fleet.

For Aesen’s specialised operations—ranging from high-speed Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV) to heavy-duty logistics vessels—iHelm introduces the Cetafuel virtual mass flow meter, enabling precise fuel monitoring without the need for expensive hardware installations. Furthermore, the integration of MRU sensors and onboard cameras enhances motion planning, allowing for safer and more efficient navigation in demanding maritime environments. By combining these advanced features, iHelm provides the critical toolset needed to optimise fuel efficiency and sustainability while ensuring the high reliability required for offshore and nearshore missions. iHelm will be integrated and support value for both diesel and hybrid vessels.

“This framework agreement with Aesen reflects a shared commitment to using data-driven decision support to improve daily operations and long-term fleet performance. Aesen has a clear vision for how digital tools can strengthen operational excellence and efficiency across their fleets. We are proud to support that journey and to expand our collaboration through a structured, fleet-wide deployment of iHelm.” — Ethan Faghani, CEO & Founder, Cetasol
