Finnøy Gear & Propeller secures agreement with FDA

Finnøy Gear & Propeller AS, the Norwegian-based leading developer and manufacturer of propulsion solutions for the maritime industry, proudly announces a recently inked agreement with Finnsnes Dykk & Anleggservice AS (FDA) to deliver a comprehensive and tailored propulsion system for their two contracted service vessels.

This newly signed contract encompasses state-of-the-art TISO gearboxes, specifically crafted propellers, and the latest fifth-generation remote control technology. Engineered to manage highly demanding operations with substantial pulling power (BP), these specifications aim to amplify vessel performance, particularly in challenging weather conditions. Arne Nogva, Sales Manager at Finnøy Gear & Propeller, expressed utmost satisfaction with this agreement, highlighting FDA’s consistent selection of high-caliber equipment for their fleet:

The recent announcement of the contract between FDA and Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted (FMV) for the construction of two new service vessels, anticipated to be ready by April and August 2025, signifies a significant milestone. FMV is renowned for involving a wide array of Norwegian suppliers in vessel construction and refurbishment. Notably, FMV has fostered a longstanding and close collaboration with Finnøy Gear & Propeller, marking the 22nd and 23rd propulsion system deliveries to the shipyard.

Finnøy Gear & Propeller has consistently remained FDA’s preferred choice for propulsion systems on their service vessels. Since 2016, their fleet has been equipped with innovative solutions from the Finnøy series, boasting vessels, including NIKLAS, FDA ASTRI, FDA FINN, and notably, the flagship FDA MIMMI, completed in August 2023. The propulsion supplier expresses heartfelt gratitude for the trust FDA and FMV have bestowed upon them over the years by opting for their solutions. They eagerly anticipate continuing this fruitful collaboration and advancing systems to cater to the constantly evolving needs of the aquaculture industry.
