Handelskade Secures Mareva Nui II Multipurpose Vessel Newbuild

Mareva Nui II to be built at Hong Ha Shipyard in Vietnam for operations in French Polynesia

Handelskade has been awarded a contract for the construction of the multi-purpose vessel Mareva Nui II, which will operate in the waters of French Polynesia.

The vessel will be built at Hong Ha Shipyard in Hai Phong, Vietnam. The shipyard is a long-standing partner of Handelskade, with a track record of 12 turn-key vessel deliveries over the past 15 years.

The newbuild will be delivered on a full turnkey basis, with Handelskade responsible for the entire project scope, including engineering, hull construction, mechanical and electrical installation, outfitting, testing, and commissioning. Through its equipment supply division, the company will source and deliver European equipment, coordinating procurement across its supplier network in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Scandinavia, and other regions.

Design and engineering are being undertaken by CMT Engineering, with Joep Koster serving as ship design manager. Classification will be carried out by Bureau Veritas. Project management on behalf of the shipowner is being handled by ALWENA Shipping.

The vessel is being built for TMTO (Transport Maritime des Tuamotu Ouest) and is configured as a custom, one-off design. Key features include cargo cranes, tween decks, folding hatch covers, a bunker manifold, and accommodation facilities for passengers and crew, including mess areas and berths.
