Iskra Shipyard Wins Contract to Build 37m Patrol Boat

Iskra Shipyard wins €17.5m tender to build a 37m aluminium Coastal Patrol Boat for Croatia’s Ministry of the Interior

Iskra Shipyard has been awarded an international public tender to construct a 37.4-metre Coastal Patrol Boat for the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia. The €17.5 million contract underscores the shipyard’s growing role in delivering high-specification vessels for maritime security and public institutions.

The vessel has been designed by Metal Shark Croatia, a subsidiary of US Metal Shark and a long-standing partner with whom Iskra has previously delivered search-and-rescue and emergency medical response craft. Construction will commence immediately at the shipyard’s Šibenik facilities, with delivery scheduled within 28 months.

Designed for border protection, maritime surveillance, search-and-rescue operations, and deployment within the FRONTEX framework, the patrol boat will strengthen Croatia’s maritime security and patrol capabilities.

The project represents a significant technological step forward for Iskra Shipyard and reinforces its credentials in the international market for specialised aluminium patrol boats.
