Island Offshore selects Ulmatec Launch & Recovery Systems For New Vessels

Ulmatec Handling Solutions is pleased to announce the successful signing of a new contract for delivery of several Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS) for the new series of Island Offshore vessels built at Vard.

The new vessels are Offshore Energy Construction Vessels based on the VARD 3 25 model; a design co-created with Island Offshore. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2027.

“These vessels are state-of-the-art hybrid powered vessels, and our partnership with Ulmatec on the LARS systems will ensure that we can operate with the highest level of efficiency and safety. Their advanced handling technology perfectly aligns with the needs of our fleet,” says Island Offshore’s Technical Manager – Trond Hauge “Choosing Ulmatec was a natural decision given their proven track record, evident low maintenance and innovative solutions – customized for the offshore sector.”

Designed specifically for the rigorous demands of offshore work, Ulmatec’s E-LARS systems come equipped with advanced features such as Active Heave Compensation (AHC) and are built to operate in ultra deepwater, ensuring safe and efficient operations in the harshest environments.
