KebNi looks forward to new and exciting collaboration with SeaTwirl AB

KebNi today announces the first order for an IMU (Inertial Sensing Unit) of the coming multisensor platform SensAItion, ahead of both official product release and prototype availability.

The client, Nasdaq First North-listed SeaTwirl AB , develops innovative offshore wind energy solutions. The SensAItion senor unit will be used operationally for various purposes, including emergency shutdown activation. Specifically, SensAItion will sense, compute, and monitor the heave motion (simply put the wave height) and send criteria-based alarm signal for immediate wind turbine shutdown at rough sea state.

SeaTwirl CTO Jonas Boström comments: “We are delighted to work with KebNi and look forward to integrate their sensor platform into our system. The feedback from my team is that KebNi increases the reliability, reduces complexity and cost on our end.”

The robust and highly ruggedized SensAItion platform is suitable for use in tough conditions. Combining that with its heave functionality makes SensAItion applicable for a range of maritime applications and industries including offshore energy, shipping, hydrography, and other naval purposes. Understanding of SeaTwirl’s needs enabled KebNi to provide additional value by developing a custom alarm feature.

“I’m thrilled to see clients ordering SensAItion already before prototypes are available, that certainly verifies the concept. Based on this small first order, we look forward to deepening the new and exciting collaboration with SeaTwirl. This order also brings KebNi into the growing renewable energy market and shows our ability to turn the sensor platform into tailored solutions that solve safety critical end-user needs.” says Erik Winther, Head of Inertial Sensing Sales.
