Kewatec delivers four 19-metre service boats to the Finnish Navy

Kewatec has signed a contract with the The Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command. The contract, being valued at 12,8 M€, covers the manufacture of four service boats and the option for five boats. The service boats’ task is to transport troops and equipment in shallow waters in the Finnish archipelago.

The boats are 19.2 meters long and are suitable for transporting Finnish Navy’s materials. The service boats are based on an earlier delivery in the Nordic region, a Kewatec work 1500 boat equipped with waterjet propulsions and tire crane.

The service boats to be delivered, the Kewatec Work 1750 are fast work boats equipped with two 750 hp engines with top speed of 29 knots. The power line consists of 2 Scania D 13 machines and Kongsberg waterjets. The boats has a large cargo deck and bow ramp.

The acquisition includes an option for 5 boats. The total value of the agreement, including options, is approximately EUR 12.8 million. The boats’ delivery takes place in 2022-2024.
