Strategic acquisition of Port of Lappvik gives Finnish boatbuilder complete control of a growing maritime and industrial hub
Marine Alutech Oy Ab has acquired the remaining 50% shareholding in Port of Lappvik Ab, taking full ownership of the port and industrial property in Lappohja, Hanko, following the signing of a share purchase agreement with Nylunds Properties.
The transaction marks another strategic step for the Finnish aluminium boatbuilder, consolidating its position at one of southern Finland’s emerging maritime and industrial centres.
Established in 2022, Port of Lappvik manages the former SSAB industrial site and its associated port facilities in Lappohja. Since its launch, the company has rapidly established a diverse customer base, serving local businesses in the Hanko region alongside companies operating in the boating, marine services and wider maritime sectors.
With the acquisition complete, Marine Alutech now owns 100% of the share capital of Port of Lappvik, providing the company with full control over the site’s future development, investment and operations.
The port’s location offers direct access to the Baltic Sea and provides an established base for maritime industries, logistics operators and marine service providers. Full ownership is expected to strengthen Marine Alutech’s long-term strategy of developing the site as a modern maritime business hub while supporting existing customers and attracting new commercial activity.
The acquisition also reinforces Marine Alutech’s broader commitment to expanding its infrastructure and operational capabilities in support of Finland’s marine and defence industries.
Marine Alutech Oy Ab designs and manufactures advanced aluminium workboats and provides comprehensive lifecycle support services. Its vessels are operated by defence forces, maritime authorities, coast guards, and search and rescue organisations across multiple international markets.
