MED MARINE announce the delivery of the MED-A2575 tug to SVS MARITIME, part of the renowned Vernicos Scafi Group. The closing ceremony took place on October 23rd, 2024, in Istanbul, marking the culmination of a contract signed in March 2024 and a testament to MED MARINE’s commitment to high-quality maritime craftsmanship at the Ereğli Shipyard.
Named “SVS I” by her new owners, this 25-meter, 75-ton bollard pull tug is engineered to tackle the multifaceted demands of modern maritime operations. Built to Class FIFI-1 standards, the Robert Allan Ltd designed RAmparts 2500W series tugboat is highly versatile, capable of performing a range of functions including ship manoeuvring, towing, pushing, mooring, and firefighting. The inclusion of an aft towing hook and capstan further enhances the vessel’s adaptability and performance in complex scenarios.
This delivery reflects MED MARINE’s mission to provide robust and innovative tug solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of the maritime sector. With SVS I joining the SVS MARITIME fleet, this vessel will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency, safety, and operational capabilities within Greek waters and beyond.

About Vernicos Scafi:
The first half of 2019, a joint venture between Vernicos and Scafi Società di Navigazione S.p.A of Italy was signed.
