JRC/Alphatron Marine has recently launched their in-house developed automation and connecting platform Lynx for monitoring and control of all kinds of ship systems. The new Lynx OpenBridge module makes it possible for any project design engineers to freely compose multiple conning pages according to the Norwegian OpenBridge design guidelines.
Conning mimics with all relevant information and controls are easily created with an ever-growing library of widgets based on the OpenBridge standard. Day, dusk and night colour schemes and multiple display sizes and resolutions are already predefined and selectable. The advanced software architecture is specially designed so that the creation of a mimic does not require any additional code or programming skills for the design engineers, which saves time and money.
The Lynx conning module is part of the JRC/Alphatron Marine’s software suite MINDS (Multifunctional Information Navigation & Docking System. The conning screen contains all standard presentations to show the usual ships navigation, engine and propulsion data, such as heading indicator, rudder angle indicator, rate-of-turn indicator, speed indicator, RPM and much more.
The conning application can be an integrated part of a JRC navigation system for advanced new build or retrofit projects or used as standalone system next to existing equipment. A large number of standard available protocols like NMEA 0183, Modbus, RS422/RS485 and ethernet are included.
With Lynx conning ‘everyone’ can design, deliver, and commission tailor made mimics for all type of ships according an international standard, with short lead times and with the ability to expand due to the well thought architecture.
