Two new-generation carousels will add 5,000–8,000 metric tonnes of cable capacity across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Aesen DOC Cable Logistics is expanding its global subsea cable handling capability with the construction of two new-generation cable carousels, each offering a capacity of between 5,000 and 8,000 metric tonnes.
The investment represents the latest step in the company’s fleet expansion strategy following the launch of the joint venture between Aesen Pte. Ltd. and Dutch Offshore Contractors Holdings.
These new-generation cable carousels deliver the same high cable capacity within a significantly narrower design, allowing them to be deployed on a wider range of barges and transportation vessels including Panamax size bulk carriers. This provides clients with more options when planning cable transportation, storage and project mobilisation.
The carousels are sourced from our trusted suppliers and form part of Aesen DOC Cable Logistics’ wider investment programme, designed to increase the supply of cable handling equipment and strategically position assets at our own yards across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, close to cable manufacturers, project locations and mobilisation yards.
Positioning these assets closer to mobilisation hubs reduces transport distances and lead times, while providing greater flexibility in responding to changing project schedules and requirements.
These investments strengthen Aesen DOC Cable Logistics’ ability to provide flexible, end-to-end logistics solutions for subsea cables and umbilicals, including one-way logistics, with assets positioned on the major continents closer to cable manufacturers and where clients need them, significantly reducing mobilisation and demobilisation costs at each end of a project.
