NR Marine Unveils Crew Transfer Vessel “NR RIVAL”

NR Marine Services proudly unveils the NR RIVAL, a first-of-class Typhoon Class Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) designed by WMD and built by Diverse Marine. This advanced 25-meter hybrid vessel represents a major milestone in their journey toward innovative and sustainable marine solutions.

The NR RIVAL is the first hybrid vessel in the NR Marine fleet and has been awarded the prestigious “Zero Emission PM” class notation. At the heart of its design is a state-of-the-art 112.5kWh battery system, housed in a dedicated, air-conditioned, and fire-protected space, reflecting a focus on reducing emissions without sacrificing operational performance.

Powered by a quad Volvo Penta D13 IPS900 engine and drive system and enhanced with Hull Vane transom foils, the NR RIVAL achieves unparalleled mid-range performance, significantly boosting fuel efficiency. During recent sea trials, the vessel showcased its exceptional capabilities, achieving a cruising speed of 30.2 knots while maintaining exceptional stability and passenger comfort.

Additional equipment includes a TMP 900XL Deck Crane on the forward deck and bow fender by Buoyant Works, ensuring safety during transfer operations.

The hybrid design reduces emissions and daily fuel consumption, making the NR RIVAL one of the most eco-friendly Crew Transfer Vessels available. This innovative vessel demonstrates NR Marine Services’ dedication to addressing industry demands for sustainable and efficient maritime solutions.
