OEM agreement sees OXE diesel outboards adopted as the standard propulsion solution across selected Damen Compact Crafts HDPE workboats
OXE Marine has secured an OEM agreement with Damen Compact Crafts, part of Damen Shipyards Group, under which its diesel outboard engines will become the standard propulsion option across selected vessels in Damen’s HDPE workboat portfolio.
The partnership brings together two innovators with a shared commitment to performance, sustainability, and the demands of professional marine operations. Damen Compact Crafts’ HDPE workboats are purpose-built for patrol, harbour support, survey, diving, and crewing operations — durable, corrosion-free, and deployable in the harshest marine environments. Paired with OXE Marine’s high-torque diesel outboards, the combination delivers a propulsion and hull package of exceptional capability for governmental and commercial operators worldwide.
The first jointly configured vessel — a Damen standard HDPE Workboat 1003 Console powered by OXE diesel outboards — has already completed sea trials, achieving an impressive top speed of 43 knots. The vessel will serve as a test platform for the governmental segment, demonstrating the operational readiness and performance credentials of the OXE-Damen combination to governmental customers globally.
“Damen Compact Crafts is a natural partner for OXE Marine. Their HDPE workboats are built for demanding operational environments, and the sea trial results — 43 knots — speak for themselves. I look forward to what we will achieve together,” says Paul Frick, CEO of OXE Marine.
“For the first time, we have successfully installed an OXE engine on a Damen vessel, and we could not be prouder of this achievement. The boat’s handling is exceptional, the steering is precise, and the performance is remarkable. This collaboration has also highlighted how quickly and effectively our two teams can work together,” says Nick Pruissen, Managing Director of Damen Compact Crafts.
