Özata Shipyard Awards Turnkey Outfitting Contract for Electric Ferry

Maritime Montering to deliver complete onboard outfitting for zero-emission electric ferry

Özata Shipyard has signed a new contract with Maritime Montering for the turnkey interior and accommodation outfitting of a next-generation electric ferry. The vessel has been designed by The Norwegian Ship Design Company for Norwegian operator Torghatten Nord.

This agreement marks the continued collaboration between Özata Shipyard and Maritime Montering and covers the complete outfitting of all onboard areas. They will be responsible for the turnkey delivery of accommodation and public spaces, designed to serve a total capacity of 202 passengers and 7 crew members.

The project represents the third sister vessel in the Torghatten series entrusted by Özata Shipyard to Maritime Montering’s team in Yalova, Türkiye. The first vessel in the series is scheduled for delivery in 2026, further reinforcing the partners’ joint commitment to high-quality execution and sustainable maritime solutions.

The electric ferry, NB 104, is a 76.85-metre double-ended electric ferry designed to accommodate 202 passengers and 60 cars, and is purpose-built for operations along the Norwegian coast.

“We are truly proud to take responsibility for the third ferry in this series and to continue contribute our expertise in delivering high levels of onboard comfort for both crew and passengers,” says Zafer Şanlı, Sales Manager at Maritime Montering Türkiye.

Delivery of NB 104 is planned for August 2027.
