PaxOcean Secures Contract for Two Offshore Construction Vessels

PaxOcean announce the signing of shipbuilding contracts for two cutting-edge Offshore Construction Vessels (OCVs) with a prominent European shipowner. These state-of-the-art vessels, designed by Salt Ship Design, meet the evolving demands of the offshore energy and renewable offshore energy industries, are scheduled for delivery in 2027, with an option for two additional vessels.

Designed with sustainability at the forefront, these vessels incorporate options for methanol readiness and are versatile enough to handle a diverse range of offshore operations, including subsea construction, ROV support, and inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) activities. We are confident that these vessels will be instrumental in the energy transition, particularly within the burgeoning offshore wind sector, while also providing essential support for sustainable operations across the conventional and renewable offshore energy markets.

Spanning 123 meters in length with a spacious 1,750 square meter cargo deck, these vessels are engineered for versatility and efficiency. They are equipped with:

  • 250-tonne active heave-compensated offshore crane for precision lifting in challenging sea conditions.
  • DP2 dynamic positioning for enhanced operational stability.
  • Accommodations for up to 123 personnel, ensuring comfort and functionality.
  • Full-beam hangar housing two work-class ROVs for subsea operations.
  • 1000 kWh battery energy storage system, reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency.
  • Provisions for future carousel installation and moonpool operations, enhancing their operational adaptability.
  • Designed by Salt Ship Design
