The 11-metre Mission Master, ‘SGT Drengen’, features an open working deck and bow ramp to support daily operations across the Norwegian archipelago
Kristiansand Municipality in Norway has taken delivery of SGT Drengen, an 11-metre ProZero Mission Master workboat built for the Norwegian Archipelago Service. The vessel is the third ProZero workboat delivered to the service and was handed over to its crew in Kristiansand.
Ordered in December 2025 following a public tender, SGT Drengen was developed with direct input from the operational crew. From the initial build meeting in Faaborg in February 2026, the crew worked closely with the builder to ensure the vessel’s configuration met the demands of their daily activities.
The Mission Master has a large, open working deck with a bow ramp, so vehicles, machinery and equipment can be loaded directly from shore. The wheelhouse sits aft to free up deck space and is mounted on vibration damping rubber mounts to keep noise low for the crew.
A Fassi deck crane with an upgraded hydraulic system lifts equipment and materials on and off the deck. Joystick control with autopilot, operated from the armrest of the helmsman’s seat, and independent bow thruster control make it easy to position the boat precisely at quays, beaches and small islands.
The hull is built in fibre-reinforced composite, the core of the ProZero concept. Low weight means lower fuel consumption, and the composite construction needs minimal maintenance and offers a long service life compared with traditional materials. During sea trials, twin Mercury Verado 350 hp SeaPro outboards took SGT Drengen to 40 knots, while the noise level in the wheelhouse measured just 67 dB(A).
“SGT Drengen is the third ProZero built for the Archipelago Service, and that tells us the concept works where it matters, in daily operation,” says Jonas Pedersen, Managing Director, Tuco Group. “The crew in Kristiansand knew exactly what they needed: a big working deck, a capable crane and a boat that is easy to handle close to shore. It has been a pleasure building it together with them.”
The harsh and varied conditions along the Norwegian coast place high demands on both construction and functionality. Repeat orders from the Archipelago Service underline Norway’s position as one of Tuco’s most important markets.
