ProZero Research Workboat Delivered to Nord University

Tuco Marine announce the successful delivery of a new ProZero 15m Research Workboat to Nord University in Norway. The vessel was officially handed over following extensive testing at the Tuco – ProZero Workboats facility, with Skipper Morten Krogstad representing the university and Tuco Marine Co-owner Jakob Frost managing the delivery.

The addition of this state-of-the-art research workboat marks a significant enhancement to Nord University’s marine research capabilities, enabling advanced scientific studies and practical training within the marine and blue sectors.

The ProZero 15m workboat represents a state-of-the-art solution tailored for various research and operational demands at sea. Designed for versatility and built using high-quality composite materials, the vessel is both durable and compliant with stringent marine regulations. Equipped with essential research tools, including winches and cranes, it facilitates efficient water and seabed sampling, crucial for the university’s academic and research missions.

With its large fender lists for safe docking and mooring, and an interior layout optimized for research workflows, the workboat provides an ideal environment for both students and researchers. It offers ample space and flexibility to support high-quality teaching and rigorous field studies, aligning with Nord University’s mission to foster academic excellence and technical advancement within marine sciences.

This delivery forms part of a broader strategic investment by Nord University in marine infrastructure. Alongside the upcoming “Blått bygg” campus and the newly commissioned coastal research vessel, the ProZero 15m workboat will play a vital role in the university’s educational offerings. Skipper Morten Krogstad noted that the vessel represents a significant upgrade to their fleet, ideally positioning the Bodø campus as a premier location for marine and fisheries science.

“We are delighted to deliver this ProZero 15m research vessel to Nord University and support their commitment to research and education in the blue sector,” says Jonas Pedersen, CEO of ProZero Workboats. “This vessel is part of a series of workboats we have specifically designed for universities and educational institutions. We take pride in contributing to both education and capacity building in the maritime field through our tailored solutions.”
