Rem Ocean Begins Voyage to Norway for Final Outfitting

Rem Offshore’s next-generation offshore vessel, Rem Ocean, departs Song Cam yard for Myklebust Verft to begin equipment installation and completion works

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Rem Offshore has marked a major construction milestone with the delivery of the hull for its newbuild offshore construction vessel, Rem Ocean, from the Song Cam shipyard in Vietnam. The hull was formally delivered on 15 June, completing the vessel’s construction phase and paving the way for final outfitting in Norway.

Following delivery, Rem Ocean commenced its tow voyage to Europe on 17 June, departing the Hai Phong region and heading via Singapore before continuing towards Norway. The voyage signals the transition from hull construction to the next stage of the project, which will see the vessel equipped with its operational systems and mission-critical equipment.

“The scope of work has been completed to a very high shipbuilding standard. In my assessment, this is among the finest hulls ever delivered to the Sunnmøre region, providing a strong foundation for a smooth and efficient outfitting phase at Myklebust Verft.” – Kristian Stavset, Head of Projects

Upon arrival in Norway, Rem Ocean will enter Myklebust Verft, where final outfitting works will be carried out ahead of commissioning and delivery. The yard will install the vessel’s key systems and specialist equipment, transforming the hull into a fully operational offshore construction vessel.

The vessel forms part of Rem Offshore’s next-generation fleet strategy and has been designed to support demanding offshore operations while incorporating solutions aimed at improving sustainability and operational efficiency.

The delivery and departure from Vietnam highlight the strong collaboration between yard, project team, and partners involved in the build. With the vessel now underway, the project continues to progress according to plan.

Rem Offshore looks forward to welcoming Rem Ocean to Sunnmøre and progressing towards final delivery.
