SEAONICS has signed a contract with VARD to deliver a comprehensive research equipment package for Inkfish’s new research vessel, RV6000. The delivery will include an A-frame system, scientific winch system, launch and recovery system (LARS) for ROV operations, and an offshore crane.
Together, these systems will provide the RV6000 with the robust and sustainable capabilities needed to support demanding oceanographic missions worldwide.
The custom-built research vessel is speciallydesigned for scientific exploration. It will join Inkfish’s growingfleet, alongside RV Hydra and RV Dagon, to supportmarine research globally. Working closely with host countries, data collectedcontributes to open-sourced repositories.
Together with their parent company Vard, the delivery date for the vessel is scheduled to Q2 2028.
