Updated MARS USV advances SubSea Craft’s growing autonomous systems portfolio with a focus on operational relevance and adaptability
UK-based maritime technology company SubSea Craft, has announced a major evolution of its MARS Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV), marking a significant advancement in the company’s expanding technology portfolio.
The development forms part of SubSea Craft’s ongoing commitment to continuous innovation and capability enhancement, driven by extensive testing and close collaboration with operators to ensure the system remains aligned with real-world operational requirements.
This approach prioritises the core principles of prototype warfare – build innovative technologies at pace, test in operationally relevant conditions, then refine the technology using the real-world experience gained.
Multiple technologies are retained from the initial MARS variant, including the proven digital control system also used by VICTA (an optionally manned, dual domain craft). MARS will be used internationally, with ventilation on both the craft propulsion systems and modular payload bay that supports operations in multiple climates, including the Middle East.
The upgraded MARS is already in advanced testing and will be delivered in support of an existing customer contract.
