Ulmatec Thermal Solutions has been awarded a significant contract by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries in China to deliver its advanced Integrated Central Heating System. The systems will be installed on two new Service Operation Vessels (SOVs) currently under construction for LD Armateurs.
Salt Ship Design has developed the designs which leverage the operational experiences from the previous purpose-built SOV’s, “Wind of Hope” and “Wind of Change”, also featuring Ulmatec ICHSTM. The enhanced designs focus on maximizing operational efficiency, uptime, and optimizing energy consumption.
Ulmatec ICHSTM is a fully automatic and self-regulating central heating system for heat recovery and heat distribution. With continuous heat recovery from the engines’ cooling water, the system will ensure that the fuel consumption from the vessel’s boiler is minimized. The distribution function ensures waste heat utilization is efficient and optimized at any time. Heat consuming system on board includes sanitary hot water system, HVAC-systems, tank heating and engine pre-heating systems.
The system will feature Ulmatec’s new automation platform with a state-of-the-art user experience and improved functionality for logging and analysing heat consumption and actual efficiency gains.
“We congratulate LD Armateurs with their new state-of-the-art and forward-looking vessel designs in terms of energy efficiency and are grateful for the trust granted to Ulmatec Thermal Solutions by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries.”
