UZMAR Shipyard is proud to announce the launching of the NB-166 ‘TIGER’, a state-of-the-art RAstar 3200W Class 80 TBP Escort Tug designed for OCEAN S.R.L. Recognised for its unparalleled manoeuvrability and escort capabilities, the Robert Allan designed RAstar 3200W series represents the pinnacle of tugboat technology.
Equipped with cutting-edge systems for ship rescue, vessel escorting, firefighting, port operations, towing, pushing, and standby services, the TIGER is engineered to meet the highest industry standards. TIGER is being built to Robert Allan designs with azimuth stern drive (ASD) propulsion and fire-fighting systems.
TIGER has a bollard pull of 80 tonnes, and has an L.O.A. of 32 metres, with a beam of 13.2 metres and a depth of 5.5 metres. The RAstar 3200W series tug has a 199m3 fuel capacity and 40m3 freshwater capacity, with Escort Tug, Recovered Oil Second Line (FP>60C) and Firefighting1 notations. The vessel is powered by two Caterpillar 3516E main engines rated at 2350 bkW at 1,800 rpm, with IMO III certified after-treatment, and has two Kongsberg US255 Z-drives with 2.8m FP propellers. TIGER is equipped with IBERCISA Split Drum Escort Forward winch, Aft Towing winch and DATA Towpin for Vessel Escorting and Towing operation.

The TIGER was successfully launched just eight months after the contract was signed, showcasing UZMAR’s commitment to timely delivery and excellence in shipbuilding.
