Renewed Workboat 1.2.3 agreement brings newly built 24-metre utility vessel Willdiscover into Williams Shipping’s fleet safety programme
Williams Shipping, a Southampton-based marine services and logistics company, has renewed its Workboat 1.2.3 fleet safety agreement with Marine Fire Safety, extending a partnership established in 2022 and bringing its newly built 24-metre utility vessel Willdiscover into the arrangement
As a commercial operator, keeping fire and lifesaving equipment serviced, certified and ready for use is an essential part of maintaining the fleet. With vessels working to changing schedules and operating from different locations, the ability to manage servicing around vessel movements is particularly important.
The renewed agreement covers the ongoing servicing and management of key safety equipment across the Williams Shipping fleet, including fire suppression systems, portable fire extinguishers, liferafts and pyrotechnics.
The agreement has now been extended to include Willdiscover, the latest addition to the Williams Shipping fleet. Built by Neptune Marine, the 24-metre utility vessel brings additional capability to the company’s commercial marine operations.
As part of the arrangement, Williams Shipping has access to electronic certification and equipment management tools, helping the company coordinate servicing requirements and monitor equipment expiry dates across its vessels.
The digital system is designed to reduce the administrative burden associated with managing safety equipment across a multi-vessel fleet while providing greater visibility of certification and servicing requirements.
Marine Fire Safety has supported Williams Shipping since 2022, working around vessel availability and operational requirements to coordinate servicing when required.
The renewed agreement provides continuity with an established safety partner while giving Williams Shipping the flexibility to incorporate additional vessels, including Willdiscover, as its fleet continues to develop.
