Workboats Consulting, a leading maritime logistics firm, has successfully completed the transportation of a pilot boat built by Baltic Workboats. The project saw the transportation of a new 17-meter pilot boat from the Baltic Workboats factory in Nasva, Estonia, to their client in New York, USA.
Vessel transport, especially involving project cargo, requires a high degree of precision and foresight. From the outset, Workboats Consulting developed a fast and cost-effective logistics plan, which was swiftly approved by the client. This plan included securing the necessary permits, organizing detailed loading and lashing procedures, and preparing customs documentation.
The vessel’s journey began at the Baltic Workboats factory in Saaremaa, with its first stop in Bremerhaven, Germany, where it was carefully lifted aboard a container ship. The transport was overseen by Workboats Consulting’s, senior surveyor Getter Kaevandes, who ensured the vessel’s safe handling during the loading operations. Getter’s meticulous oversight ensured the pilot boat arrived undamaged at its destination.
“I would describe this transport with the keyword ‘smooth cooperation’,” said senior surveyor Getter Kaevandes from Workboats Consulting. “First and foremost, I would like to highlight the excellent cooperation with Baltic Workboats. The teamwork, information exchange, and mutual understanding were superb. I would also like to underline the good cooperation and communication with the port’s stevedores, who played a significant part in the logistical aspect of the transport. Of course, they must not forget the often-overlooked role of the ship’s crew. Their skills and commitment were crucial in ensuring the safe ocean crossing of the pilot boat. The cooperation with all parties involved could be described as smooth sailing!”
“On another note, it was heartwarming to welcome a home-built ship on the other side of the globe, so far from Estonia. This is a remarkable achievement for the Estonian maritime industry and confirms its reliability. It also demonstrates the vast demand around the world for vessels produced by Baltic Workboats,” added Kaevandes.
Arro Truumees, Project Manager of Baltic Workboats, shared his satisfaction with the succes of the project, saying: “Workboats Consulting not only delivered our pilot boat to New York safely but also ensured a stress-free process for our team. Their comprehensive service, from managing the paperwork to overseeing a thorough inspection, was outstanding. It’s partnerships like this that strengthen our confidence when dealing with global deliveries.”
This successful project highlights Workboats Consulting’s expertise in managing complex, large-scale maritime transport projects, and further strengthens its position as a trusted partner in the maritime industry.
